The area of operation (VO) Clinical Genetics, Pathology and Molecular Diagnostics has over 400 employees and consists of three sections comprising the medical specialties Clinical Genetics and Clinical Pathology, as well as the methodological area/platform Molecular Diagnostics. Our operations are characterized by strong development in both technical and medical possibilities, as well as an increasing demand for our diagnostics.
We have Clinical Pathology operations in Lund, Malmö, Helsingborg, and Kristianstad, while Clinical Genetics and Molecular Diagnostics are primarily located in Lund. We conduct both basic diagnostics and highly specialized diagnostics and provide specialized expertise and consultation within the southern healthcare region. Our operations also include the Center for Rare Diagnoses (CSD). We have a close collaboration with Lund University, and several of our employees conduct successful research linked to the operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Our diagnostics are driven and developed in 18 processes, histological diagnostics are performed via digital imaging, and the digitization of cytological diagnostics is underway. Molecular pathology is a routine part of the pathologist's diagnostics, and analyses are conducted within the framework of the Laboratory Medicine Center for Molecular Diagnostics. We actively participate in quality and care program work, both regionally and nationally, and operate a business that is accredited in selected areas with accompanying quality assurance of laboratory work, diagnostics, and documentation management.
Training students, supervising residents, and conducting research are part of our operations and therefore also part of your work as a specialist physician. We have a close collaboration with academia, including Lund University. We work continuously to develop the operations in a structured manner, and we hope you will become part of this work.
QUALIFICATIONS
For employment as a specialist physician, the following must be met:
- Medical license with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare.
- Specialist competence in clinical pathology.
- Completion or planned course in clinical supervision.
- Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale.

At a university hospital unit, it is required that physicians have pedagogical experience and education. You may have acquired this through supervision of, for example, nursing and medical students, as well as physicians in training and as co- or main supervisors of doctoral candidates. Clearly describe in your application the pedagogical courses you have completed or planned, experience in supervision, and teaching at various levels.

For the chief physician position, a diploma regarding disputation, a certificate of docent status, and a publication list (divided into original publications, review articles, and other publications) may also be required. Non-Nordic dissertations must be attached to the application and be assessed by the Swedish Council for Higher Education and meet the requirements for a doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Medicine, Lund University.
